Vitaliy Mykolenko: Everton interested in Dynamo Kiev defender ahead of January transfer window | Football News

Everton are interested in Dynamo Kyiv defender Vitaliy Mykolenko, valued 20 million pounds, ahead of the transfer window in January.

Mykolenko, 22, has made 21 appearances for the Ukrainian international and plays predominantly as a left-back, a position that has caused problems for Rafa Benitez in the past two weeks with Lucas Digne absent from his plans.

He has been with Dynamo his entire career so far, scoring seven goals in a total of 132 appearances, including a string of outings in European competition.

Mykolenko had also been linked to a transfer to Rome of Jose Mourinho from the Ukrainian press, with an offer of £ 15 million from the rumored Serie A club.

Everton would distribute the commission for the duration of Mykolenko’s initial contract.

The Premier League club has also been named by Dynamo manager Mircea Lucescu as Mykolenko’s potential destination.

Lucescu would have said: “Mykolenko will go to Everton. It will be the first big transfer from Dynamo since (Andriy) Yarmolenko.

“He is a young player and should be an example to others. It is very important to allow players to express their potential and give them the opportunity to realize it.”
