Tolworth Novices’ Hurdle: Datsalrightgino to face potential Sandown clash with Constitution Hill | Racing News

Jamie Snowden is thrilled to see Datsalrightgino put his powers to the test at the highest level in Unibet Tolworth Novices’ Hurdle in Sandown on Saturday.

The probable favorite for the Grade One competition is Constitution Hill, coached by Nicky Henderson, who made a big impression on his debut under the rules of course and distance a month ago.

Datsalrightgino, however, brings a good level of experience to the table, having placed in four bumpers before winning his first two starts over obstacles.

The six-year-old was last seen recording a narrow victory at Cheltenham last month and his coach is looking forward to seeing how he fares in a higher grade this weekend.

Snowden said: “He has two out of two hurdles, obviously Cheltenham’s win was great and it was always the plan to really come here.

“He’s a nice young horse that we’ve always thought a lot about. Obviously he has to take another step forward in this company, but he goes there in great order.

“He wasn’t driving home with the bumpers, but we had a wind operation on him over the summer and that seems to have helped.

“His two hurdles victories have been on good ground, but he’s also fit on softer ground.”

Constitution Hill (white) defeats Might I in Sandown in December

Constitution Hill is one of two potential runners for Henderson along with First Street.

Harry Fry’s Might I was 14 points behind when he was the favorite to beat Constitution Hill at Sandown in December, but I was able to renew the rivalry on Saturday.

Paul Nicholls looks set to saddle Mr Glass, who has won his last four starts in the colors of Jess and John Dance.

Double winner Jetoile (Ryan Potter), Dom Of Mary (David Bridgwater), Shallwehaveonemore (Gary Moore) and Whiz Kid (Dr Richard Newland) are the other hopes.
