In addition to shorter daylight hours and freezing temperatures, the winter months can also put a strain on our skin.
But while many of us have our face skin care routines nailed down, many of us are guilty of neglecting body care. It is just as important to regularly moisturize the skin on our bodies as are our faces to keep it soft, happy and healthy.
Thankfully, there are so many great options to choose from, from lotions to creams and oils. Below we have broken down some body oils to buy now, as well as three different ways to use one in your regimen this winter.

Three ways to use a body oil this winter
On damp skin
When the skin is moist after a bath or shower, it is more receptive to the moisturizer and easily absorbs the softening ingredients. To get the most out of your body oil, apply it after drying your skin with a towel for a nourishing treatment.
Mix with highlighter for an ethereal glow
Who said the highlighter has to stop at the face? Adding some out-of-this-world glow to your skin is the best way to finish off a killer outfit (if you’re brave enough to strip some skin this winter, that is). Mix some of your favorite highlighter powder with a body oil and apply to areas where light naturally catches for a little extra shine.
Upgrade your regular body moisturizer
Adding a few drops of oil to your regular body moisturizer is a great way to make it a little more nutritious in the winter months. Mix it in your palms and apply as usual.
Winter skincare routines have never looked so good!
