Taapsee Pannu makes a case for sustainable fashion in this upcycled Banarasi dress

With the growing awareness of the threat of fast fashion to the environment, sustainable fashion is finally going mainstream with celebrities and fashion enthusiasts making informed fashion choices. The latest to turn heads in a recycled piece of clothing is actor Taapsee Pannu.

Taapsee, who is known for talking about raging social and political issues, this time let her dress do the talking. To support sustainable fashion, the actress showed up in a recycled Banarasi dress for her recent appearance at the Filmfare OTT Awards.

Elegant as ever, she wore a multicolored off-the-shoulder Banarasi dress with a corset bodice and dress hem from designer Ashwin Thiyagarajan’s latest vibrant boho collection.

The dress features “recycled Banarasi panels from our previous collections in smart modern silhouettes,” the designer wrote.

Keeping the look minimal and chic, she accessorized it with just a couple of heavy gold studs. Taapsee brought her hair into a French braided bun and added the finishing touches with winged eyeliner, subtle eyeshadow, a hint of blush and nude lip color.

What do you think of this sustainable yet elegant look?
