Strictly’s Giovanni Pernice gets teary as he makes final with Rose Ayling-Ellis

Giovanni Pernice was moved during Sunday’s episode of Strictly Come Dancing as he reached the final with Rose Ayling-Ellis.

During the last episode, it was announced that the duo had made it to the final on Saturday 2021 along with AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington, and John Whaite and Johannes Radebe.

Speaking with host Claudia Winkleman after their fate was revealed, Rose said softly of Giovanni: “I just want to say, thank you very much. You care so much, you put so much passion into it.

“It made me really determined to give my all, you are the best teammate I’ve ever had in my life, honestly, you are!”

To which Giovanni began to cry as he gave Rose his advice for the final: “Just be you. From day one, you’ve been a dream. You’ve been a dream my whole life, only you and me I think we’ll be just fine “.

Elsewhere, Rhys Stephenson sadly became the 11th star to be eliminated from the 2021 Strictly Come Dancing series on Sunday night.

The 28-year-old CBBC presenter confronted John on the show’s dreaded prom night where they had to re-perform their chosen routines from Saturday night.

During the dance, Rhys and his professional partner Nancy Xu performed their Samba a It Had Better Be Tonight by Michael Bublé while John, 32, and Johannes performed their Jive to Higher Power by Coldplay.

The judges – Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas – then gave their feedback as each of them revealed who they wanted to stay in the competition: John and Johannes.

After his fate on the BBC One show was revealed, Rhys said of his time on Strictly: “I may not have made it to the finals, but I’ve learned so much from just being on this show, from everyone here that just got us. supported in this new family.

The Strictly Come Dancing 2021 finale will air Saturday 18 December at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
