Oti Mabuse surprised his mom with a super sweet reunion this Christmas.
The Strictly Come Dancing star hasn’t seen her mother and the rest of her family in South Africa in three years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The 33-year-old professional dancer, who was recently announced as the new judge of Dancing On Ice, posted a video of herself waiting to board a flight to Heathrow to finally be reunited with her loved ones.
“I’m on my way home,” he said in a video shared with his 636,000 Instagram followers.
“I haven’t been home for four years. I haven’t seen my mother for three or four years, I haven’t seen my father for four. He doesn’t know I’m coming home.”
The video then cut into clips of her trip before reuniting with her parents and family friends back home.

He captioned the video: “FINALLY AFTER YEARS SUCCESSFUL TO RETURN HOME TO SOUTH AFRICA”.
“I decided to surprise my family and not tell them I’m coming home just to see their expressions, Mom was speechless (she touched me all to see if I was real, Dad couldn’t stop smiling and my godmother wept her eyes)
“To say I was emotional is an absolute understatement. I waited 3-4 years to hold my mother, father, sister, nieces and nephews in my arms and spend time with them NOT through a screen [heart emoji].
“I rarely share family events, but this one seemed very special to me and I know so many others are in my position and were in turmoil when RSA was taken off the red list.
“Covid has really taught me how family is first and foremost and should never be taken for granted [heart emoji]. Please excuse the upcoming photo dumps that will fly your way. “
Despite concerns that he would not be able to see his family for another year due to South Africa being on the red list, he will be returning to British soil very soon.
Kicking off 2022 in style, viewers will be able to see Oti return to the jury chair as he joins Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean and Ashley Banjo in the Dancing on Ice panel.
“As a professional dancer I have always had so much respect for the professionals of Dancing On Ice,” she wrote as she announced the news.
“It’s an exceptional skill that is also so beautiful to look at. I’m really excited to join the panel along with the legendary Torvill, Dean and Ashley Banjo.
“I can’t wait to see celebrities thrive as they learn to ice skate and support pro skaters as they create amazing choreography.”

She added: “Having been on both sides of the table, I know a little bit how they will feel. It’s more than an honor and I’m already looking forward to joining the family. “
His decision to join the ITV show has fueled rumors that he will leave Strictly forever, with celebrity PR and publicist Harry Rutter telling Metro, “Movements like this don’t happen often, but it’s more than likely a ‘ very tempting offer was put on the table by the heads of ITV.
“Oti has been doing Strictly Come Dancing since 2015 and has built a sizable audience both on TV and online, that’s something ITV would have considered.”
The new Dancing on Ice series starts on Sunday 9th January.
