Mount St. Mary Academy students combine business with fashion

KENMORE, NY (WIVB) – Mount St. Mary Academy students are making their mark on the fashion world as they hone their business skills.

The students will hold the “Fly by Fashion, Comfy Couture” fashion show this weekend. News 4’s Gabrielle Mediak dropped by to find out more about the program and the next show!

23 entrepreneurs and ten local boutiques involved. And beyond elegant dresses, Virtual Enterprises International is helping these young women prepare and make connections in the business world.

They will also show fashion lines created by middle school students who are part of Fly By Fashion. They developed their own “brands” by creating second-hand clothing.

The show will take place at 2pm on Saturday 22 January in the Mount St. Mary Academy auditorium.
(3756 Delaware Ave., Kenmore.) Tickets cost $ 12 upfront and can be purchased at or $ 15 at the door.

The sale of “Fly by Fashion, Comfy Couture” tickets serves to support student travel to job competitions.

Next week, Fly By Fashion members will travel to Los Angeles for a business competition with schools across Southern California.
