Milan Men’s Fashion Week Fall / Winter 2022 recently wrapped up earlier this week and included blockbuster names such as 1017 ALYX 9SM, Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana and Prada who walked the runway. With the pandemic still ongoing, some brands have chosen not to show in person in Milan and have instead chosen to show their collections online. JW Anderson and Giorgio Armani were among those who decided on digital fashion shows.
Although Fashion Week has not yet returned to normal, those who were able to witness the shows in person were able to bring the energy and embrace the first European Fashion Week of the new year. The city of Milan received a boost in drama as viewers dazzled the streets with eclectic patterns and bold colors. Since January is notoriously cold for Men’s Fashion Week, this season’s street style has featured comfort-focused pieces in casual silhouettes. In the past, viewers have opted for loose coats, but for this week many viewers have preferred boxer cuts for their outerwear.
Milan offered a vibrantly coordinated layering combo that saw a monochromatic sweater and overcoat combo in a bold orange and functional fit in multiple shades of bright blue. Mismatched patterns, including a plaid cardigan paired with paisley silk pants, worked harmoniously to make a statement on the streets of Milan. Of course, being that it was Milan Fashion Week, showgoers represented some of the biggest Italian luxury brands. The Prada bolus is a captivating yet discreet accessory for a suit focused on comfort. Tight-fitting, tailored outerwear blended with soft, oversized trousers that commented on the contemporary ideals of today’s casual yet structured silhouettes.
