Lifeline children get peek into the world of fashion

Earlier this month, a group of Chai Lifeline girls who have been stricken with pediatric illness visited the Manhattan showroom of Rickie Freeman’s luxury fashion brand Teri Jon. The program was coordinated and led by Leora Mishan, creative director of Teri Jon, who talked about the fashion design process and the power of taking ideas and insights from around the world. Then, after a snack, the group had lunch at Chai Lifeline’s New York office.

“We wanted to give the girls an overview of the design process, from inspiration to production,” Ms. Mishan said. “More importantly, we wanted to share Rickie Freeman’s story with them; shows them that through strength and conviction they can get the power to get whatever they want ”.

“It was really cool to see different types of clothes and how they were made,” said Michelle, a participant of Manalapan’s Chai Lifeline. “It was also great to connect with new people and learn new things.”
