Toto Wolff says he can give “no guarantee” that Lewis Hamilton will continue in F1 following Sunday’s controversial end of the drivers’ championship.

Mercedes team principal Wolff says Hamilton and the team have been “disillusioned” by the events in Abu Dhabi and will “never get over” the season finale.

Max Verstappen, on fresh tires, overtook Hamilton on the final lap of the race to claim race victory and the world title after a controversial safety car restart procedure.

On Thursday, Mercedes announced that they had withdrawn their appeal against the race result.

Hamilton signed a new two-year contract with Mercedes at the start of the season.
