It’s hard to believe that beautiful Kirstie Alley turns 71 this year! The actress, who rose to fame in the 1980s, celebrates her birthday on January 12, 2022, and in honor of the occasion, Wonderwall.com comes back to remember some of Kirstie’s highlights of retro fashion over the years! Two years before joining the cast of “Cheers” and becoming a household name, Kirstie Alley was an up and coming actress married to actor Parker Stevenson. She was seen here wearing a killer mid-1980s Harley Davidson t-shirt with black denim while attending a pro-peace demonstration and commercial television recording with her “Hardy Boys” hubby in October 1985.

The shoulder pads! That low-cut tie around the hips! Kirstie Alley certainly showed off some 80s fashion with this glittering ice blue number at the annual Second Stuntman Awards in Hollywood in March 1986.

Denim on denim, Kirstie Alley style! While attending an NBC promotional event in Los Angeles in 1987, Kirstie sported an oversized denim jacket over a gray sweater and added a denim skirt to complete her twist on the Canadian tuxedo. We could absolutely see this late 80s look being a hit today too. Extra points for her minimal makeup and artfully tousled hair!

You’ll soon realize that one of Kirstie Alley’s favorite fabrics is black velvet, so this look she wore to the First Annual Movie Awards in Universal City, California in January 1991 is Kirstie’s quintessence. The star’s long-sleeved gown included a turtleneck, subtle shimmering embellishments, and a matching wide belt in the luxurious fabric.

In addition to loving black velvet, Kirstie Alley also has a penchant for finishing things off with a coat.
