In case you ever wondered which side you are on someone like Kevin Durant, send a Tweet and just mention his name. He will let you know his feelings explicitly. This is exactly what happened last night after Durant struck a triple double over the Toronto Raptors in a 131-129 overtime win. Skip Bayless of FS1 and Undisputedhe, in turn, felt compelled to praise KD.
Imagine what kind of hell Durant would have unleashed if Bayless’s tweet had been negatively directed at Durant. Of course, that’s nothing new between these two, as Durant’s feud with Bayless dates back to his OKC Thunder days. Durant was an exception to Bayless’s constant ridicule of then teammate Russell Westbrook.
Last night’s Twitter exchange happened similar to Westbrook-Bayless beef back in the day. Bayless took yet another shot at Lebron James in the Tweet, and it would seem reasonable to say that this is what Durant was an exception to.
Every day on Undisputed, Bayless champions Durant as the best player in the world or leader in the MVP race. However, KD couldn’t care less about the props Skip gave him. Durant is very capable of holding a grudge, especially when he’s with a member of the media.
Look at Durant endless beef with Charles Barkley. The rest of NBA on TNT the crew suffers from Barkley’s big mouth, and Durant doesn’t give a damn either way. KD is like the guy who took everyone’s shit for the first 25 years of his life, and once he was enlightened that he shouldn’t have, now the filter is completely off. And now anyone can get it, so I better proceed lightly and choose my words wisely.
I’m sure this isn’t the last time we’ve heard of Durant versus Bayless as the latter can’t seem to keep the former’s name out of his mouth. Skip has made a career irritate professional athletes and has more than perfected the craft. Maybe we can circulate a petition to get these two to the celebrity ring together. Triller on line one. Paging Snoop DO-Double G. Now it would be a comedy.
