Kemba Walker of the New York Knicks may be one of the hottest players in all of basketball and that didn’t change at Christmas. The Knicks veteran is coming out of a 40-point game and has now just scored a triple double against the Atlanta Hawks. This is the tenth triple double at Christmas in NBA history. New York is currently winning this big in the fourth quarter with only three minutes remaining.
What Kemba has been able to do since returning to rotations is nothing short of impressive. He has played three games of over 20 points in a row and has been one of the main reasons why the Knicks have finally been able to find offensive success during their last few games.
They haven’t played great basketball this season and it’s questionable why they decided to seat Kemba Walker because he played basketball decently. The Knicks have found much more success if he was on the pitch than when he is off. Manager Tom Thibodeau is a defensive minded manager and since Kemba doesn’t exactly play the best of defense, he has found his way out of the rotation.
His role will obviously change after the commercial deadline if he is still on this Knicks team. It would make sense from the Knicks’ point of view if they decided to keep him as a reserve point guard and go get that first star they desperately need to win a championship.
