Kate Middleton’s 40th birthday gowns recall wedding to William with special link

Kensington Palace released three stunning new portraits of the Duchess of Cambridge ahead of her 40th birthday.

Kate, whose birthday is Sunday 9th January, looks gorgeous in minimal makeup with her brown locks styled with loose curls, as she models three different dresses from stylist Alexander McQueen.

One outstanding shot shows the Duchess wearing an extravagant one shoulder red dress that features a thick belt and wide sleeve.

The portraits also pay homage to the Queen and Princess Diana through Kate’s choice of jewelry, and her decision to wear McQueen dresses for the photos is believed to be a nod to her and her husband Prince William’s royal wedding.
