Kate Garraway leads stars receiving New Year’s Honours after moving Covid doc

Kate Garraway has led a long list of deserving celebrities receiving New Year’s honors in late 2021.

The 54-year-old Good Morning Britain host has been named MBE for her efforts to document her husband Derek Draper’s battle against the coronavirus, which has damaged her organs, including her heart, lungs, liver and pancreas.

Derek, also 54, was hospitalized in March 2020 after contracting Covid-19. He went on to become one of the longest-lived inpatients with the deadly virus in the UK.

The author and political advisor had been in hospital for more than a year. Now he’s back home, but he still needs treatment after the long-term impact the virus has left on him.
