JD Sports Fashion Has Potential for Stronger Position as a Partner of Major Brands — Market Talk

JD Sports Fashion is expected to continue to strengthen its position as a preferred partner of brands such as Nike and Adidas, considering its strong retail capabilities and premium positioning, says RBC Capital Markets. In the growing sportswear and athleisure category, the sports and fashion company is regarded as one of the minorities of UK retailers capable of expanding their offering globally, says RBC. In particular, we see the potential for online sales and performance in the United States that are stronger than the market expects. The recent acquisitions in the United States should also provide JD with the opportunity to broaden the demographic of its customers. RBC has an outperform rating on the stock with a price target of 275 pence. Stock trading up 1.8% to 222.8 pence. (kyle.morris@dowjones.com)
