A little over a year ago, ex Small people, big world star Jacob Roloff opened on being a survivor of child sexual abuse. Now, he attributes to his public statement a kind of catalyst that allowed him to become a father.
“1 year and 11 days ago, I posted my statement on my experience with CSA”, Jacob, 24, shared on Instagram on Sunday, December 26, next to a photo of him at 3 months old. “I said, ‘I am sure this is a positive time for me, and another step towards a brighter future. ‘ I’m happy to say I meant it! “
“I felt so free from an unnecessary burden, I felt much closer to my always supportive wife, much more open and self-confident; in a way it allowed me to become a dad, to finally open that door “, the new dad, who welcomed his son Mateo with his wife, Isabella rock, on December 6, continued. “I’m so, so happy I did and I love Mateo more than I could have imagined or hoped for or dreamed of.”
Isabel, 25, showed her support in both her comments section and her Instagram stories, writing “So proud of you” and “In awe of this man.”
Jacob concluded his message by stating that his son was the “best Christmas present” and connecting to the non-profit 1in6, which help men “People who have had unwanted or abusive sexual experiences live healthier and happier lives.”
Fans of the reality star’s family have been divided over the couple’s decision not to publicly share pictures of their son on social media. While many wished to see the family grow, others felt that the couple, who married in September 2019, were responsible.
“We knew that before we had [Mateo] that we wanted to protect your online privacy. How that aspect would always change, because you don’t know until you are in it how you will feel, what you will feel comfortable sharing when [the] baby is really here, ”Isabel answered a question-and-answer question on her Instagram Stories on December 17.
“In the end, Jacob said from the start that we will share very little of our children and I agreed. So, we are now browsing every day, checking each other on convenience and what we choose to share, “he added.
“[Keeping Mateo’s life private] something we’re super passionate about, “Isabel said earlier.” She deserves her privacy. “
Jacob, the youngest son of Matt Roloff And Amy Roloff, first appeared on Small people, big world in 2006, at the age of 9. He remained on the show for 10 years until his departure in 2016.
On December 15, 2020, the former TLC personality accused one of the show’s field executive producers of harassment.
“It is often much easier to think about things than to talk about them, and so this revelation was delayed, but through that delay I found the fortitude and the words,” Jacob wrote at the time. “As a child, after what I realize now was a long process of preparation, I was harassed by an executive producer on the field to Small people, big world. I do not expect to publicly disclose the details of this meeting at any time. I hope he will never be allowed to have children again. “
Shortly after his statement, he received a outpouring of support by his parents, his wife, his brother and his sister-in-law, Jeremy Roloff And Audrey Roloff.
