My job as a fashion editor doesn’t exactly help me get away from spending crazy bucks on clothes. That said, I’ve had my (big) share of disappointments when buying new pieces and they almost always start with an online purchase. But let’s be honest, you simply can’t beat the convenience of shopping from your phone, so when I venture into the wilderness that is the internet, I’m now looking for pieces that look the best of the best quality, without breaking the bank.
For starters, the “zoom” tool is your friend and I highly recommend using it to take a closer look at the fabric of the pieces you may be purchasing. Specifically, you can determine whether or not the patterns line up with the seams, which can be a testament to the quality of the stitching. I also have to turn my hat to online retailers like Net-A-Porter who often embed videos of its products on the patterns so you can see the fabric in motion. Last, and certainly not least, the higher the natural fiber content, the better. It’s pretty much my job to make things easier for you, so let’s start with the 29 pieces I’ve collected upfront. None of them are over $ 150, but trust me, you’ll feel super luxurious wearing them.
