Fashion and flexing have always been an important part of black culture. The HBCU community is no exception to this cultural staple.

Everyone tries to let off steam and there’s a lot of pride in looking your best on and around campus. So we decided to give these students and pupils their props to introduce themselves and show off.

Courtesy of HBCU drip, Each week we will highlight five people with the hardest IV on campus. Those people will act as “representatives” for their institution and this will dictate the school’s place in the HBCU Fashion rankings.

This week’s HBCU fashion charts feature some looks that make you look twice at your phone. With Christmas just around the corner, the bar is being raised significantly by these HBCU students and alumni. Let’s take a look at which schools made up the HBCU fashion rankings this week.

5. Southern University

I really like this look from @ sumo1k. Dark pants with bright colors give the look a nice pop. The white shoes and shirt also provide a nice neutral contrast with the pants. It’s why Southern is in the top 5 on the HBCU fashion chart this week.

This is a nice dress from @ jazzy.b_. It has the FAMU which took 4th place in the HBCU ranking. The sweater has a nice design and apparently shows some school spirit too. Works well with pants and shoes fit really well.

3. Tuskegee

Tuskegee sits this week on the HBCU fashion chart with third place overall. This was a very cute look from @iammoniquenicole. The camouflage pants and graphic tee take it to the next level with its choice of hats. The look has a completely different vibe due to that creative choice.

2. Benedict

Benedict takes home second place on the HBCU fashion chart this week with this look from @wangwangg. The letterman style jacket together with the Js give a nice sporty and street vibe. However, the colors really give this look over the top. The green and brown combination gives it a unique touch.

1. Howard

The letterman-style purple jacket in this fit is simply clean. The complete of @miaaimor gives Howard the top spot on the HBCU fashion chart this week because the look is just plain sharp. Everything in this look also works in the details of the shoes.
