Four-star DE Omari Abor announces his commitment to Ohio State

Ohio State has been chasing Duncanville, Texas, the defensive end Omari Abor for a long time and their perseverance has paid off. The defensive end of Rivals250 has announced its engagement with the Buckeyes during the Under Armor All-America Game, choosing the Big Ten program over Texas and many more.

“Looking at the history of Ohio State and the defensive conclusions that the coach has (Larry) Johnson he’s coached, “Abor told Rivals.com.” He’s sent a lot of them to the NFL and they’re performing at a high level. I’ve watched videos on how he trains his defensive endings. I like the system.

“Really just the relationship I have with Larry Johnson,” he said. “It’s the little things that grab my attention in every school.”

Abor is an exceptional defensive talent and should see a lot of playing time to the next level if he continues to develop on the same trajectory. He physically checks all the boxes and has shown elite explosiveness to the limit. Abor’s training week in Orlando started slowly, but got better and better as the intensity of the workouts increased. Abor has a good understanding of correct technique and plays with the right energy and intensity most of the time.

Ohio State is loaded on the defensive and Abor helps secure that group’s future. Larry Johnson, one of college football’s top assistant coaches, continues to amass defensive talent and has done an outstanding job developing players with Abor-like traits. He thanks the State of Ohio for continuing to pursue the highest defensive goals even though they did not announce their commitments until the end of the recruiting cycle. Abor’s commitment also helps the state of Ohio maintain a strong presence in the state of Texas.
