Coronation Street fans were left in tears on Saturday’s Christmas Day episode as Roy Cropper made an emotional return to ITV’s cobblestones.
Last month, soap watchers were devastated after Roy left Weatherfield to work as a chef in South America due to feeling guilty about his unwitting role in Natasha Blakeman’s death.
During the special holiday episode, Roy made an emotional return to be able to spend Christmas Day with Nina Lucas in heartwarming scenes.
Taking to Twitter, watchers of the soap were in tears for the exciting moment.
One person said, “The best TV moment of the month. Roy is at home. #Corrie #coronationstreet.”

Another account posted: “#Corrie That Made Christmas Corrie – Roy hugging Nina!”.
Another follower commented: “That hug from Nina and Roy. Emotions #Corrie”.
While another soap watcher added: “#Corrie is catching up … I’m so happy to see Roy – it’s a Christmas miracle!”
Last month, Roy was upset by his unwitting role in Natasha’s death as the gun used to kill her was the same firearm Abi Franklin bought to shoot Corey Brent, which he managed to dissuade her from doing.
Things got worse when a terrified Abi learned that the police can identify the gun used to shoot Natasha and Roy advised her to confess how she got her hands on it, but when the police arrived they had to lie again to cover up. Abi.
And when Roy asked Adam Barlow to give the coffee to Nina Lucas and Abi to sell his beloved car, Nina worried that Roy was planning to take his own life.
However, Nina was soon stunned when Roy announced that he was leaving the cobblestones to move to South America to work as a chef.
Nina refused to let Roy leave as he made Weatherfield residents tell him how much he meant to them and persuade him to change his mind.
However, despite the gesture, Roy still attempted to leave later that night, where he was disturbed by Nina as she again tried to get him to stay.
After explaining her reasons once again and pointing out that she always has a roof over her head, in addition to the money coming in, she asked if she could leave.
