Jordan Ayew scored his first Premier League goal in 43 games as he recovered a 2-2 draw for Crystal Palace against Southampton.
The striker’s last goal for club or country came in a 4-1 win over Leeds in November 2020, and it would have been a sweet feeling when he scored at home from a tight angle in the 65th minute.
Crystal Palace had let the 1-0 lead slip after Wilfried Zaha gave them the lead in three minutes, immediately picking up where they left off in the convincing 3-1 win over Everton on Sunday.

But two quick Southampton goals saw them lead at half-time. James Ward-Prowse took home a distinctive free-kick (33) before Armando Broja (36) scored his fourth Premier League goal of the season.
Loot sharing was a fair reflection overall, with Crystal Palace jumping over Brighton and Brentford in 11th place with 20 points. Southampton remain in 15th place but are now six points clear of the drop zone.
