Betty White is about to reach an important birthday. On January 17, 2022, the legendary actress turns 100. And the most important moment does not go unnoticed. On her birthday, her special film, “Betty White: 100 Years Young”, will be released in theaters for just one day.
The film, which includes a cast of starred friends including Ryan Reynolds, Tina Fey, Robert Redford, Lin Manuel-Miranda, Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, Jay Leno, Carol Burnett, Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel, Valerie Bertinelli, James Corden, Wendie Malick and Jennifer Love Hewitt – will feature White’s funniest moments in “The Golden Girls”, featuring “SNL”, “Hot in Cleveland”, “The Proposal”, “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” – and a lost episode of Betty’s first sitcom.
While turning 100 is a landmark event for White, it’s not the first time she’s celebrated. Her list of accolades also includes being the first woman to produce a TV show and the first woman to receive an Emmy nomination. He has won five Primetime Emmy Awards, two Daytime Emmy Awards, the first in 1951 and the most recent in 2011.
White has been in the entertainment industry for over nine decades, although she is known not only for her work in front of the camera, but also for her fashion both on and off screen.
Before there was “Sex and the City” or “Emily in Paris”, “The Golden Girls” brought style to the screen in the 1980s and age was hardly a factor. Rose Nylund, played by White, for example, was known for her subtle, pastel wardrobe consisting of cardigans, retro silhouettes, and pearl accessories that could easily be worn today. Off-screen, White has also continued her feminine aesthetic over the years.
Look at her in 1974 in Los Angeles, wearing a printed round neck maxi dress with layered pearls underneath.
Over the years, the comedian has often opted for monochromatic suits and matching trouser suits. Even in her 90s, her shoes always seemed to have a slight heel.
