Betty WhiteThe Hollywood agent is clearing the field of the Hollywood icon’s cause of death.
The legendary actress died at the age of 99 on December 31st. According to his friend and longtime agent, Jeff Witjas, the golden girls alum “died peacefully in his sleep at his home”.
“People say her death was related to a booster shot three days earlier, but that’s not true. She died of natural causes,” Witjas told NBC News on Monday, Jan.3. “His death shouldn’t be politicized, that is, not the life he lived.”
In an email to the Associated Press, Witjas also denied a quote made up by the actress, explaining that White did not receive the booster on the alleged date. “Betty never said that,” he said.
An official cause of death for White has not been released, although he had previously said People in one of her latest interviews she felt “so lucky to be in such good health and feeling so good at this age”.
