Anthony Martial: Ralf Rangnick urges striker to speak to Manchester United about his wish to leave | Football News

Ralf Rangnick has urged Anthony Martial to speak directly to Manchester United about his desire to leave in January.

Martial Rep Philippe Lamboley said Sky Sports News exclusively on Friday that the French striker is not satisfied with his playing time and wishes to leave Old Trafford next month.

The United Rangnick boss, who scored his second win since taking over the club in Norwich on Saturday, said he has little interest in Lamboley’s statement and that Martial should speak directly to the club instead.

Rangnick said: “I don’t communicate with agents through the media and the press. The player hasn’t talked to me or us about it.

“And to be honest what your agent says in the media doesn’t really interest me.

“I will not discuss it with the player because then I would react to what his agent said. It should be the player, if he really has the desire to go to another club, to inform the board or myself, anyone.

“But I’ve never talked about a player through media and agents.”

Martial, who made only two Premier League starts in this period despite struggling with former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, lost the 1-0 win at Carrow Road with a knee problem.

Rangnick says he doesn’t know if Martial will be back on the pitch for the clash at Brentford on Tuesday night.

“After the last training before the Crystal Palace game, after training with the team, he informed the doctor and the medical department that he will not be available because the pain in his knee is too great,” Rangnick said.

“We have to wait and see. Maybe tomorrow he can train again but first I have to talk to the doctor.”
