“This is not just another tablet. We call it a Smart Media device,” Thomas Richter, Samsung’s head of product portfolio, told a packed press conference at the at the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin.
In terms of size, Android tablet screen is smaller than the iPad, only about 7 inches. In the TFT screen is capacitive, Samsung offers a picture resolution of 1024×600 pixels is powered Cortex-A8 processor-powered 1GHz.
Memory capacity is quite large. There are two options, with a memory (storage) or an internal 16GB 32 GB with 512 MB of RAM. Capacity can still be added 32GB with a microSD card to help the tablet’s performance is better.

SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab P1000 is offered with two choices of color, black and gray. Weight is much lighter than the iPad because wrapped solid plastic material, only 380 grams, with smaller dimension 19 x 12 x 1.2 cm.
SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab will be launched first in Europe in mid-September. Italy became the state of the lucky ones to witness the first appearance of the tablet was Samsung’s first Android. Shortly, Samsung will expand its market to the United States, Asia, and Korea in the following months.
There has been no official statement from Samsung related price and availability in Indonesia.
