Google Friend Connect does not work?

July 2nd, 2010 by admin | 1 Comment | Filed in Blogging

This will be helping with your Google Friend Connect issue that does not work in one browser but not working in other browsers. It seems this only occurs on WordPress blogs and is a matter of a WordPress file called prototype.js not being compatible with Google Friend Connect JSON code. prototype.js (JavaScript file) is essential for WordPress sites to work correctly.

This step can be used this script and placed just above scriptcode from Google Friend Connect

<script>
window.JSON = {
parse: function(st){
return st.evalJSON();
},
stringify: function(obj){
return Object.toJSON(obj);
}
};
</script>

From Google themselves it of course is a JavaScript error and Google Friend Connect should work after this code addition before the gadget code in WordPress.  Thanks to Chris Lang who has been willing to share in solving this problem

New Swype, The end of tapping out texts

June 22nd, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Technology

The Next Generation in text InputTapping out a text message could become a thing of the past due to new ‘Swype’ technology. Instead of pressing individual letters, mobile users drag their finger from one letter to the other in a fluid, faster motion.

The computer then calculates which word was intended by the combination of the letters touched upon. The movements do not even have to be precise because the software can work it out.

According to U.S. inventor Cliff Kushler, ‘Swype’ can increase the speed of even the most nimble texter by up to 30 per cent. He said the technology could have an enormous impact and be used anywhere people have to use a keyboard, such as video games, sat-nav devices and ticket machines. (more…)
