No nuclear risk to North Pacific fish

North Pacific fish are so unlikely to be contaminated by radioactive material from the crippled nuclear plant in Japan that there’s no reason to test them, according to federal and state of Alaska health officials.

Dangerous levels of radiation have been reported off the coast from the Fukushima reactor complex. However, a spokeswoman for the federal Food and Drug Administration told the Anchorage Daily News newspaper that the ocean is so huge, and Alaska fisheries so far away, that there is no realistic threat. BlackBerry Empathy, SMARTphone concept

SMARTphone concept-Research In Motion (RIM)is a serious company that makes serious smartphones. But a RIM-sponsored design competition aimed at creating phones that integrate human emotions with social networking has produced a concept device that looks nuttier than squirrel droppings: The Blackberry Empathy.

” …… ability to detect the emotions of its user and his or her contacts. It’s not exactly clear how it’d do that, but one crucial element is the biometric feedback ring that communicates your frustration at the phone’s inability to properly sync IMAP accounts in real time. “

The Empathy is an angular phone that looks absolutely stunning–and a tad bonkers. Its front is home to an OLED touch screen that’s transparent when not in use, and opaque at other times. It wouldn’t be a proper BlackBerry without a physical keyboard, but the Empathy’s is located on its back.

Motorola H700 Bluetooth Headset

Motorola is working hard to make its products smaller and this is clear from their products like the Motorola Slvr and Razr. Now it is applying this formula to Bluetooth headsets as well and the Motorola H700 Bluetooth headset is a good example of it. The device has a very basic design and it looks very much similar to Motorola HS850 but the H700 is 30 percent smaller. It is 1.69 inches (2.51 inches when you open the microphone boom) by 1.06 inches by 0.66 inches and weighs about 0.2 ounces which is really lightweight.

Motorola H700 Bluetooth headset has a pebble like design which doesn’t take up a lot of room in your pocket. The silver and gray color scheme also looks aesthetically appealing. Motorola offers this headset at $100 which is affordable but you can get it cheaper online. (more…)
