Russian assassin sent to kill double agent who betrayed Anna Chapman

Sexy Spy – A contract killer has been dispatched to assassinate the Russian double agent who betrayed Anna Chapman and nine other spies in the United States this spring, according to reports in Moscow.

“We know who he is and where he is,” a high-ranking Kremlin source told the reputable Kommersant newspaper.

“You can have no doubt – a Mercader has already been sent after him.”

Ramón Mercader was the KGB-hired Spanish communist who was sent to kill Leon Trotsky with an icepick in Mexico in 1940.

The traitor was reportedly identified as a Colonel Shcherbakov, an officer of the SVR (foreign intelligence service) who headed the S directorate of the service’s US department, which controlled the ring of sleeper agents, including Chapman. (more…)

McDonald’s Virus Hits FACEBOOK users!

Haystack ‘anti-censorship’ software withdrawn over security concerns

A piece of software called Haystack, which claimed to be an “anti-censorship” system to let people in Iran use the internet anonymously, has been withdrawn by its author after experts raised serious questions about its security.

The author, Austin Heap, a 26-year-old programmer from San Francisco, has been roundly criticised by professionals who complain that he has never allowed them access to the program’s code – which they say is a necessity with security software to check whether it can do what it claims.

Decision follows concerns that system aiming to let people in Iran use internet anonymously could put users at risk

After having obtained access by other means, the experts now say that instead of making users anonymous, it could reveal key information about them to the Iranian authorities.

In a post on his blog on Monday, Heap says that in the “vigorous debate” about Haystack’s security “many of the points made were valid” and that users have been asked to stop using it. (more…)

India eyes Google and Skype ban in telecom crackdown

BlackBerry may have won a reprieve but Google and Skype were squarely in the firing line Tuesday as India’s security agencies widened their crackdown on telecom firms.

Indian officials have raised concerns about the powerful encryption technologies used by Skype and Google’s Gmail service, urging all international communication firms to allow intelligence agencies to monitor their data

If you’re a fan of the movie stars Cameron Diaz, be careful when surfing the internet. His name, included in a list of keywords most dangerous because it is often used to trap and malicious programs infiltrating a.k.a malware (malicious software).

McAfee antivirus companies put Cameron Diaz in the top position in the list of most dangerous celebrities in an online search service. Julia Roberts is the next celebrity. Jessica Biel which last year occupied the first position slipped to third position.

Monitoring results showed one of 10 web pages displaying search results that the star “Knight and Day” that contains malware that potentially stealing user data. McAfee released the report on Thursday (08/19/2010).

The creators of malicious programs is often exploit celebrity names as bait to trap his victim because of the popularity of the name. They expect great opportunities to defraud unsuspecting Internet users clicking on the web and download the contents seem harmless. (more…)
