Fiber Optic Supports 200Gbps Transmission

FIBER OPTIC. Nokia Siemens Networks has conducted laboratory tests that successfully transmits data at speeds 200Gigabit per second (200GB) through a standard optical fiber. The success of this trial marks an important step towards network 400g.

The test was conducted following the recent announcement of Nokia Siemens Networks on equipment Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) is ready to support speeds of up to 400GB. It is estimated, the network operator will be able to hold the optical network is ready to 400GB in 2011. (more…)

Tourists kidnapped

MEXICO. A group of gunmen kidnapped at least 20 tourists in the Mexican resort town of Acapulco, according to Guerrero state prosecutor’s office.

Violence due to drug gang clashes often occur in Mexico

It was reported that the tourists were abducted Thursday night but did not know the identity of the kidnappers and how the fate of the tourists who were kidnapped.

Local media reported that the tourists had just arrived in Acapulco.They are looking for a hotel when they were abducted by gunmen in a car number Michoacan state police.

According to local media, a woman escaped from abduction. Quoted by the AFP news agency, she said armed men came when they stopped briefly on his way to his hotel over the weekend.

Michoacan is a base of La Familia, drug cartels whose network is down to Guerrero. (more…)

Windows Live Essentials 2011 Available to download

In all, Windows Live Essentials is one big, sometimes incomprehensible bucket that contains a lot of different applications of varying degrees of usefulness. In June we walked you through each of the big apps, but as a brief refresher, Windows Live Essentials includes:

Messeger : Microsoft’s same ol’ instant messaging app, but with added support for social networks like Facebook.

New York’s Subway May Not Survive Nicole
